Marketing Coordinator Intern

Long Engineering, Inc. located in the Cumberland Mall area of Atlanta is seeking a Marketing Coordinator Intern. We provide land surveying, site design, transportation engineering, bridge design, construction engineering and inspection, subsurface utility engineering.

This position will work closely with the Office Manager and firm principals providing marketing and administrative support services.

• Develops, modifies, formats staff resumes
• Assists in preparing project descriptions including taking project photographs
• Updates existing marketing materials
• Provides formatting and graphical enhancement to proposals that includes photos, headers/footers, text boxes, quotes, colors, etc.
• Provides proposal copying, binding and delivery
• Assists with preparing news updates and project information to our company website
• Assist with preparing qualification packages
• Attend occasional pre-proposal meetings
• Provides administrative functions related to office operations
• Maintains proposal tracking lists
• Proofs and edits technical and non-technical documents
• Assists with the development of presentations, both technical and marketing related
• Develops uniform company related documents (transmittals, memos, site visit reports, expense request forms, etc.)

Roadway Engineer (Experience Required)

 

Long Engineering, Inc., a full service, civil engineering consulting firm in Atlanta, GA, has an opening for a Roadway Engineer.  The position requires experience in design of Georgia roadway projects.  The project will be delivered using the typical GDOT process.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing roadway geometrics, drainage, maintenance of traffic, staging, signing and marking, erosion and sedimentation control, and other related design tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team based, collaborative environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Georgia
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering
  • GSWCC Level II Design Professional Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing Georgia roadway/transportation projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of the GDOT Plan Development Process
  • Knowledge and understanding of AASHTO Greenbook Guidelines, civil design software, and MicroStation InRoads

Survey CAD Technician

Long Engineering, Inc. is accepting resumes for a Survey CAD Technician.  This person will be responsible for working with a Registered Land Surveyor to develop survey databases, boundary and topographic surveys from data provided by our survey crews utilizing Microstation/Autocad/InRoads.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research of property records online and in person.
  • Process field survey data using Microstation and/or AutoCAD to develop finished survey drawings.
  • Interact with the field survey crews to assure the proper field data is being collected.
  • Become familiar with CAD standards of various government agencies to make sure finished survey drawings are in compliance with standards.
  • Assist with property surveys and assemblage of large numbers of parcels
  • Development of 3D digital terrain models, based on field data, to be used for engineering design, utilizing InRoads and similar software.
  • Occasional assistance in the field to confirm finished drawings are representative of field conditions and to further skills toward becoming a registered land surveyor.
  • Other duties as necessary to complete complex survey projects.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of land survey concepts.
  • Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD in a civil engineering setting.
  • Desire to further career in surveying
  • Desire to work with a highly skilled Registered Land Surveyor to learn advanced survey techniques.

  • Supervise survey team in performing topographic and boundary surveys and construction staking.
  • Ensure accuracy of field work.
  • Perform field calculations including level reductions, traverse calculations and calculations for construction layouts.
  • Operate and maintain Leica survey equipment (Total Station, GPS and Digital Levels).
  • Make proper field notes and sketches.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of crew vehicle.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety procedures.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Good mathematical and communication skills.
